About me

I’m Karen, the creative force behind KAMO Design.

Born in Colombia, raised in London, and now based in Donostia/San Sebastián, I work across motion, character, and visual design.

I’m deeply passionate about character design, traditional animation, and visual storytelling.

Whether it’s with a camera in my hands, pen and paper, or a piece of moss I’ve found along the way, I’m always searching for new ways to tell a story.

I love merging digital and physical art, and I’m currently exploring 3D printing as a way take my ideas into the physical world.

Digital Art

I specialize in 2D and 3D motion design and visual storytelling. Over the years, I’ve worked across film, advertising, and high-profile live events, creating content for leading studios including Universal Pictures, Warner Bros., and Netflix.

More recently, I’ve been developing immersive visuals for global artists such as Adele, The Rolling Stones, and The Grateful Dead.

At the heart of my digital work lies character and narrative. Alongside client projects, I’ve built an evolving universe of characters and stories, continually shaping the skills needed to bring them to life, and eventually step beyond the screen.

Natural Art

Alongside my digital practice, I’ve begun reconnecting with the physical side of creation. Working with organic and living materials, I create miniature ecosystems, merging 3D printed mini sculptures with natural materials such as living moss.

These pieces explore the space between technology and nature, where virtual narratives become physical, breathing works of art. Through this process, I hope to inspire a deeper reconnection with nature, showing how digital tools can help us appreciate and care for the living world around us.
